Bill Laramore, Warsaw, was presented with the Military Order of the World Wars award by R.A. Young, vice president for business affairs at Arkansas Tech. Laramore received the award at Arkansas Tech's annual president's ROTC review. He was presented the award for showing a marked improvement in his military and academic studies during the school year.

Well known residents of Pierceton and vicinity, Mr. and Mrs. William Mort celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 12 at their home in Pierceton.

Several students from the commercial department of Warsaw High School entered the district contest for commercial students at Rochester on Saturday. Many of the prizes were awarded to local contestants for their excellent work. Margaret Edgington won first prize in the novice typist contest and third prize of the same group was awarded Pauline Estep. Bernice Hale received first and Betty Rice third in the amateur typist class.
