James Crouch, North Webster, was the guest of honor at a potluck dinner given at his home Saturday in celebration of his 96th birthday anniversary. Others present for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Crouch and granddaughter, Peggy, Mr. and Mrs. Sim Lewallen, Mrs. Stanley Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fiddler, all of the North Webster community.

Frank Evans, Warsaw building contractor, is perfecting and patenting two novel inventions of his own origin. One is a golf score card device which the golfer may operate with one hand to keep accurate count of his strokes. The other is an invention to eliminate headlight glare. It is a piece of nickel, shape of a semicircle, designed to be placed behind auto headlights. It is perforated diagonally and permits the light to stream down the highway lighting the road but not high enough to blind a pedestrian or autoist approaching.
