County Sheriff Ron Robinson, his wife, Deb, and their three girls escaped to Punta Gorda, Fla., for their first extended vacation in quite some time, but it seems they were never far from local acquaintances. "Frog" jokingly estimated half of Atwood was in the vacation spot last week, and that every time he turned around, he was bumping into somebody from Kosciusko County. So much for getting away.

Warsaw Community High School's Rod Wildman signed a national letter of intent Tuesday to attend Purdue University. Wildman was called "the finest running back in the state" by Boilermaker coach Alex Agase, who was on hand for the signing.

Warsaw firemen extinguished a grass fire Saturday afternoon at 629 S. Buffalo St., but fire truck driver Freddy Wolford did some sweating before learning of the fire's location.

Yesterday marked the 19th anniversary of the opening of the Dickey & Son's Dry Goods Store in Warsaw by C.O. Dickey and his sons, Charles Dickey and Leonard Dickey. Some employees of the Dickey Store have been in continuous service since the first day of the business here.
