A check for $1,000 has been given by Lake City Bank of Warsaw to the Kosciusko County United Fund's disaster relief fund to aid those stricken by the tornadoes. Bruce Wright, president of the bank, presented the check to Stanley Pequignot, president of the United Fund. Pequignot said there is now $6,100 in the UF disaster relief fund.

At the state solo and ensemble contest at Indianapolis recently a clarinet quartet, composed of Laurrabelle Hibbet, Rosa Ann Beigh, Joan Faulkner and Pauline Patterson, won an excellent rating. Carolyn Disher placed fourth with a French horn solo. Mr. Crooke, instrumental director, accompanied the group to Indianapolis.

A Mr. Lockman, Silver Lake, late this afternoon guessed a heifer's weight, 920 pounds exactly, and was given the animal as a prize by Joe McCoy, who conducted the guessing contest in which a score of cattle buyers and farmers took part, on the court house corner.
