Claypool Festival Cutie Royalty: Jacob Lucas, king; Regan Rowland, queen; Brandon McCord, prince; Lilli Hertel, princess. All were crowned after the parade Aug. 20. Baby photo winner was Gregory Helton. Top choice for the cake bake-off Aug. 19 was Janet Warren.
Ric Moore, owner of the R & B Car Company, Warsaw, and nine employees will travel to Mobile, Ala. Saturday, Sept. 3, to help with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. The local National Guard Unit will deploy to Mississippi to help with security.

Lake City Bank announced that its Economic Briefing Seminar will host Dr. Dane Miller and a panel of economists from Indiana University on Sept. 18 at 2517 Wagon Wheel. Miller is president and C.E.O. of Biomet, the Warsaw company that has won many awards. He was named Indiana Industrialist of the Year by Indiana Business Magazine in 1989.
Amy Feldman, assistant manager of accounting at Royalite Thermoplastics (formerly Uniroyal Plastic Co.) in Warsaw, has passed all four parts of her CPA exam.
Dr. Talitha Day Fair, Warsaw, director of Selah Christian Center, is on her way to Augsburg, Germany to learn about the schools and culture. Mayor Plank sent with her the flag of Warsaw to present to her host family as a token of goodwill between the cities.

Art Smith, Warsaw, is presented a trophy from Elmer Holloway of Holloway Gulf Service after he won the 25-lap modified feature race at the Warsaw Speedway Saturday night, Aug. 21. Smith was sent to the back of the lineup following a spin out midway in the race, but roared back to capture his fifth consecutive feature event. Smith was plagued with minor problems the first half of the season, but had his car, number 67, “purring like a kitten” Saturday. Jim Elliott took second; Paul Hazen, third.
Warsaw Rifle & Pistol Club's Walter Blackwell took two firsts and two seconds for individual honors in the summer league matches at the Chief Wa-Ke'-De range two miles east of Bristol Sunday, Aug. 22. Pistol chairman is Charles Huffer.

Warsaw's Delta Theta Tau sorority completed plans to sponsor a dance at the Tippecanoe Lake pavilion on August 7, with music furnished by Joe McCarthy and his orchestra from DePauw University. Charlotte Marie Butler, general chairman, is assisted in the project by Mrs. William Braddock and Bette Mikesell.[[In-content Ad]]
