Heather Noelle Bryan and Zachary Dean-Wayne Golden competed in the Little Miss and Mister contest at the Indiana State Fair Aug. 14. The Kosciusko County kids placed seventh out of 42 represented counties. Bryan is the daughter of Jeff and Sheri Bryan, Winona Lake. She is a Jefferson Elementary School student. Golden is the son of Dean and Lora Golden, Warsaw. He is an Eisenhower Elementary School student.

Cheri Tucker, Mentone, received the honor of having the best food display at the recent Kosciusko County Fair with her fifth-year foods project, crescent yeast rolls. She received a gift certificate from Tom Reyna and Mark Mayo. The Kroger Culinary Award is presented each year to one of the food displays from the grand champion, which represent Kosciusko County at the State Fair. Cheri is the daughter of Charles and Cara Tucker.

Two outstanding students of area colleges returned to Winona Lake recently before going back to Indianapolis, where they are going to live. Glenn Baker, who graduated this year from North Manchester with the best grade point average of the class, will be going to Indiana University Medical Center. His wife, the former Who’s Who student at Grace College Jeanette Turner, will teach in a local school.

Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Beyer, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Snorf and daughter, Suzanna, left for German Vally, Ill., to visit the former’s only brother, Dr. Albert Beyer, who is a retired Presbyterian minister. He is also founder of a college at German Vally, Ill.[[In-content Ad]]
