Tippecanoe Valley Middle School teacher Jane Hunn is one of two Indiana teachers named as finalists for the 2005 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. She was nominated by TVMS Principal Earl Richter.

Home Furniture Mart, a fixture in Warsaw for the past 45 years under the ownership of Thames Mauzy and family, was sold Friday, Sept. 14, to Max and Mary Carroll Jones, who are changing the name to Jones Furniture. They also own and will continue to operate Jones Appliance on East Winona Ave. Home Furniture Mart was established in 1945 at the old Playtime building on North Detroit Street by Thames and his son, Lanny. Thames Mauzy was 18th District Representative for 22 years.
After two years, Warsaw Community Development Corporation administrator Sharon Chase has stepped down from her position, effective one month from now. “We're very sad to see her go,” said Neal Carlson, WCDC board president.

The Times-Union will provide instant news at the 1965 Industrial Fair, Sept. 8, 9 and 10. For the first time publicly in this community, the newspaper will have installed in its booth an automatic Teletype machine, which will constantly hammer out the news from Associated Press correspondents around the world. Warsaw's first Industrial Fair was held Sept. 13 and 14, 1961, with approximately 15,000 people in attendance. The Fair was a part of the 50th anniversary of the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce. Little Crow Milling Company handed visitors more than 25,000 miniature pancakes during this first Industrial Fair. They were cooked by the president and vice president of the company.
