Wawasee High School will be represented on the football field in the RCA Dome as The Warriors take on Northern Lakes Conference rival NorthWood in the first game of NLC Day. Prior to the game, Wawasee’s duet, Alan Frank and Jessica Randall, will sing the national anthem. Frank is assistant principal at Wawasee and Randall, a senior, is the daughter of Phil and Dawn Randall, Barbee Lake.
Attending the Indiana Retired Teachers Fall Leadership Workshop for Area 2 were Tim and Nancy Shoemaker, Joanne Welch, Judy Whaley, JoAnn Rosbrugh, president, and Gene Gossman, vice president. Josephine Likens led the pledge and singing of “America.” Rik Lovelady entertained with his banjos and Gene Gossman, with the accordian.

Warsaw sophomore Jay Hicks set a course record with a time of 15:49 at the Grace College course in a meet against Plymouth Tuesday.
Players of the Week: offensive lineman, Dale Davis; defensive linemen, David Hall and Chris Neeley; offensive back, Doug Light; defensive backs, Kevin Hackworth and R.J. Hall; scout team, Chris Helton.
Noble Superior Court Judge Roger B. Cosbey has been named U.S. magistrate for the northern district of Indiana, succeeding Gene B. Lee, who retires Dec. 31. Lee was appointed magistrate in 1979 and was a state court judge in Kosciusko County for 16 years.

Mrs. Thames Mauzy, 1025 Country Club Lane, helped her daughter, Sharon, pack school clothes as she prepared for Parsons College, Fairfield, Iowa. She has an interest in theatre and began her Wagon Wheel Playhouse days with bit children’s parts in 1956 and now is completing her fourth year as a resident member. She credits Director Tom Roland and the drama and speech training she received in high school under Mrs. Petrie.
Three Girl Scouts of Troop 29, oldest troop in Warsaw, aided in distributing United Fund stickers in the business district. They were Margaret Jagodzinski, Sherry Zellers and Sonja Hatfield.

Two new teachers will be employed at Silver Lake School. Guilford Gartner, Wabash County, will succeed Andrew Fernung. teaching Latin, social studies and athletics. Mr. Deets will teach agriculture in Lake and Jackson Townships. With the closing of Maple Grove School, Mrs. Deverl Underhill will teach in Silver Lake.
Ringle’s Furniture Store on South Buffalo Street is remodeling the front of the building, the latest of many stores to “dress up” in Warsaw this year.
Bobbie Zimmer, Times sport statistician, who won a free trip to New York, is very proud of an autograph of Jack Dempsey he secured. Dempsey, “Manassa Mauler,” was the undisputed heavyweight champion for seven years.
Walter Pittenger, former Warsaw boy, is now a photographer in Tucson, Ariz.[[In-content Ad]]
