The 15th annual “Back to the Days of Kosciuszko” event is set for this weekend, Sept. 24-25, on the west side of the fairgrounds. Farrier Matt Gillis will demonstrate early blacksmithing skills in the Lake City Forge; Karri Danner provides music on her dulcimer; Punch and Judy puppets by Royal Jamison will perform. Organizers are Mark Parker, Jeff Nicolet, Charlotte Siegfried, Darline Wallace, Deb and Barb Wuthrich, Jim and Barb Smelser, Roy and Jean Bradbury, Dick and Katy Goshert, Betty Carrie, Jim and Karen Ellison, Luann Goering and Cissy Kramer.

The third annual Taste of Kosciusko will be held at noon, Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Center Lake Pavilion. Organizers are Renee Bowens, Jeanne Silveus, Dawn Stein, Chris Boyd, Larry Bair, Kay Farrar, Betty Ellison, Jane Nolan, Joy Carlson and Deb Parker.
Whitney Stump, 10, a fourth-grader at Akron Elementary School, was the winner of a Roadmaster bicycle given away from the Warsaw Dairy Queen as part of their 50th birthday promotion. Dairy Queen owner is Jane Nolin.
Ruth Ann King, “Keeping Care at Heart” recipient for September at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

Larry Castaldi, 1965 campaign chairman for United Fund of Kosciusko County, announced that Todd Boering, comptroller at Jomac North, will head the accountant's division. Jim Kees and Charles Ker Jr., both of Dalton Foundries, will assist.
Dedication ceremonies and the all-star game Saturday afternoon, Aug. 28, officially opened the new Syracuse Junior League baseball field at the north edge of Syracuse. Land was donated by the Methodist Church; Rev. August Lundquist gave the invocation. American Legion Post 223 Junior Color Guard opened the ceremony by raising the American flag behind the score board in center field. Tony Mohler, catcher for the Lions team, slams out a hit to center field.

Elizabeth Thompson, Warsaw, desk manager at Kosciusko Camp, Winona, lost her jeweled Delta Theta Tau sorority pin, which was a gift from the group to 'Lizabeth a couple years ago for super-supervising a convention.[[In-content Ad]]
