September 16 1999

    Retired Tigers hosted a 20-year dinner for Retired Tigers Apartments, in which five original residents were honored. They were: Princess Frush, Belva Drudge, Winifred Howe, Beaulah Goss and Helen Hay. These five honorees were given sterling silver key chains with a tiger paw emblem designed by Bill Allen of Allen's Designs. The Dancing Grannies provided entertainment.

September 16 1984

    Master Sgt. and Mrs. Roger Drudge and Michelle from Adanna, Turkey, are visiting here on a month's leave. They were guests of his mother and sister recently, Mrs. Wiladene Drudge and Marilyn of near Silver Lake.


50 Years Ago

September 16 1959

    Rev. and Mrs. William Widbin and sons, Billy and Bruce, and her mother, Mrs. Standley, all of St. Louis, Mo., are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Hamilton, Winona Lake. The Widbins are cousins of the Hamiltons and missionaries to Dutch New Guinea.


75 Years Ago

September 16 1934

    Members of the Lambda Chi Omega sorority met at the Willis Alexander home, with Miss Esther Melick as hostess. During the business session, plans were made for the three prizes awarded by the sorority during the county fair. The profits of this project go entirely to charity work.
