 “A Little Night Music” closes out the Wagon Wheel's 50th anniversary, opening Aug. 17 and running through Sept. 3. James Walton performed in the play in 1976 as Henrik. Now, he returns to play Henrik's father, Fredrik. Anne Whitney first appeared at the Wagon Wheel in 1983 and has performed on stages from California to Chicago. She returns to play Madame Armfeldt.
The Warsaw football team is playing its first game of the year at the new Tiger Athletic Complex Aug. 19 against Columbia City. The Tigers played at Fisher Field at the current Lakeview Middle School since the late 1960s.

More than 4,000 fans packed the Warsaw Speedway Saturday evening, Aug. 11, to enjoy the final race in its 42-year history. As a special treat, a midget sprint class was added. Tom Leiter has been driving at the speedway for 25 years. His father, grandfather, cousins, uncles and brothers have driven at the speedway. Howard Woodward brought his children and grandchildren to the races over the years. Ben Meyers, 12, said he's going to miss the races.
 Sandra I. Frush, Pierceton, is the new executive director of the Kosciusko County Mental Health Association. She has served as clerk-treasurer in Pierceton from 1980-84. Her husband, Earl, is retired from the U.S. Air Force.

Nancy Gable, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Gable, Warsaw, is The Times-Union Calendar Girl for August, and she reminds everyone to come to the Kosciusko County Fair next week, Aug. 2-7.
Officers of the Fair Association: William A. Orr, president; Donald Snyder, vice president; Henry Butler; secretary and general manager; Hal Stroh, treasurer. Vern Landis is chairman of the directors who assist the officers in plans for the fair.
Indiana National Guard Company A, 1st Battalion, 293rd Infantry unit in Warsaw, departed at 6 a.m. July 31 for two weeks of active duty training at Camp Grayling, Mich. Capt. Robert Robinson, Warsaw, and Lt. Roger Bayak, Ligonier, are commanders.

Jesse Hay, South Indiana Street, Warsaw, conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad, retires today, Saturday, June 29, after rounding out 43 years of service. His wife and daughter, Jane, journeyed to Fort Wayne this morning to ride with him to Warsaw on his last regular trip, passing through town, west-bound, at 4:39 CST.
