    Ashley Renee Sinclair, 15, has been chosen as a state finalist in the Miss Indiana American Junior Teen Pageant to be held at the Adams Mark Hotel, Indianapolis in July. She will be a sophomore at Warsaw Community High School in the fall. Her parents are Richard Sinclair and Patricia Enders. She was first runner-up in the Miss Teen Kosciusko County Fair Pageant in 2001.

    Math Winner - Rick Dilling, 10, a sixth grade pupil at Washington Elementary school, recently placed first in the region, and 21st in the state on a state-wide math test. The best score in the state was 38, and Rick had a score of 35. Rick’s sixth grade teacher is Denny Duncan. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dilling.

    Owen Moore, who began his teaching career in a one-room rural school in Monroe township in 1912, is retiring this month after 50 years in the public schools of Indiana. Moore has been a social studies teacher the past five years at Manchester High School. He was Superintendent of Schools at North Manchester and played a leading role in the consolidation of the Chester and Central High Schools, and in planning the new Manchester High School.

       Mr. and Mrs. Guy Bushong and family of Pierceton have gone to Bloomington in their housecar. They will remain there for the summer while the former will be enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
