Killed in action March 23 during Operation Iraqi Freedom, U. S. Marine Lance Corporal David Fribley was the first Hoosier casuality. From Atwood, he was a 1996 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. A David Fribley Memorial Benefit will be held May 26 in the Central Park Pavilion, Warsaw. The event begins at 2 p.m., hosted by the rhythm and blues band, Changeling. "Our goal is to purchase a monument in David's name to honor all of his brothers in the military." Proceeds from the event will go to the Indiana War Memorial Museum in accordance with the wishes of his parents.

4th Annual "Old Timers Day", Saturday, May 14, 1988, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: Proceeds to go to Jefferson Elementary School. There are many scheduled events. The day is sponsored by Miller's Merry Manor, Penguin Point, and Area Merchants and Service Organizations.

A frosted food machine, a new venture in the produce field, was introduced here for the first time recently by the Jet White store, operated by Harry Hall. Securely packed, wrapped, and placed in this machine, fresh foods of all varieties will keep their natural freshness until unpacked for cooking, assuring customers genuine freshness at all times. Original flavors also are maintained.
Dr. L. A. Willits, optometrist, has removed his office one door south in the Hotel Hays building in the office formerly occupied by Dr. Luse. This will give him more space to install additional scientific equipment for the fitting of glasses.[[In-content Ad]]
