Camp Mack, Lake Waubee, Milford, is celebrating its 80th anniversary. Rex M. Miller, executive director, invites the community to be part of the Grand Celebration Service in Quinter-Miller Auditorium May 1 when the recently restored large rose window at the front of the auditorium will be dedicated. On July 27, 1925, 130 campers arrived for the first youth camp. Girls slept in the barely ready Sarah Major Lodge, with boys sleeping in tents. The camp has grown from the original six-acre, one-week long summer camp to a year-round ministry of camps and retreats happening on over 200 acres.
Anne Clemens Leininger, daughter of George and Mary Clemens, Warsaw, was promoted to an associate’s position at the Lauth Group, Indianapolis, which has been helping to restore the West Baden Springs Hotel.

Grace Community Orchestra Board for 1990: Don Ogden, chairman; Mary Parr; Charlene Savot; Mayor Jeff Plank; Dick Anderson, secretary; Ethel Anderson, orchestra conductor; Bob Brennan; Vernon Stinebaugh, concertmaster; Marian Groesbeck; Jim Nesbitt; Phil Eherenman; Waverly Conlan; Tim Zimmerman and Ann Ker. The annual spring concert is May 6 at Rodeheaver Auditorium, Winona Lake, with violinist Yang Xi from China.
A new Marsh Supermarket is proposed on the old Murphy Medical site. Originally, Marsh officials had planned to construct the facility on the old freshman high site in 1988, but it was awarded to Zimmer. Murphy Medical, originally built in 1941 with 25 beds, was demolished the summer of 1988.

Warsaw Community High School gridiron star Terry Hopkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gib Hopkins, Warsaw, has been named to the Prep All-American football squad for the 1964 season. He has earned three football letters at Warsaw and during his senior year made 25 tackles and assists. He scored 49 points this past season, made two touchdowns, scored three field goals and kicked 28 extra points.
Margie Merkle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Merkle, and Nancy Arnett, daughter of Corbin Arnett, will represent Claypool in the spelling finals. Spelling champs from Beaver Dam School are Deborah Ault, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ault, 7th and 8th-grade winner; teacher Lucile Beehler; Sharon Spice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Spice, fifth/sixth, teacher Beatrice Grimme.

Carrier boys play marbles at the building side door as they await their evening papers. Robert Chambers, former state mile champ and son of West Fort Wayne Street’s Ed Chambers, won all “glassies” from all the neighborhood youngsters. Little Bobby Nichols called for his big brother, Nick, as Robert C. walked home. Nick arrived – all the children were handed back their marbles.
A total of 187 pheasants sent here from the state game preserves, will be released in various parts of Kosciusko County, 156 cocks and 31 hens.
