Sixteen fifth and sixth graders from Kosciusko County will converge on the Warsaw Community Public Library Saturday morning for a unique competition. The 2006 Kosciusko County Drug and Alcohol Quiz will begin. The local competition is sponsored by the Kosciusko Council on Drug Education and Drug Abuse Resistance Education officers.

25 Years

Peabody Retirement Community, 400 W. Seventh Street, will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a special celebratory service open house April 25. Following a worship service the Peabody staff and residents will host an open house and tours on the campus. Refreshments will be served at various locations during the afternoon.

50 Years

Mr. and Mrs, Jack Lowe, 1230 Country Club Drive, left today via jet to Florida. Later in the week they will depart on a Caribbean cruise. Mrs. Lowe and children recently returned from a vacation trip to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Milam and daughter Roberta Lynn, Pierceton, entertained with a family dinner in their home on Easter Sunday.

75 Years

Junior Cochren, Atwood senior, ran across a list of "pen pal" names in the musician mag "Downbeat" so he chose a pal from far away, England. His friend, who's a drummer as is Junior wrote our young friend an interesting letter. With his church filled to capacity, funeral services were conducted on Monday morning for Dr. Frank K. Dougherty, pastor of the Warsaw Methodist Church, who died from injuries sustained last week in an automobile crash near Wabash.
