Mrs. Betty Ellison has been chosen to represent the United States as an attache for the country of Belize (formerly British Honduras) in the Pan Am Games this August. She retired in 1981, with 20 years as a Spanish teacher at  Warsaw High School behind her. Although she regards teaching as one of the most exciting things she’s ever done, she retired with plans to travel with her husband, Robert. Five months after her husband’s death, Ellison saw an article in the Indianapolis Star requesting applicants for Spanish-speaking persons to serve as volunteers at the 10th Pan Am Games.

The evening’s entertainment was well under way by 8 o‘clock, making it possible for pupils in training to enjoy at least a portion of the festivities. Those who assisted in making the party a success were: Jack Cluen, general chairman; Tommy and Fred Gilliam and Phil Lucier, publicity committee; Dave Rankin, Dorian Sanders, and Herbert Chinworth, decorating committee; and Ike Hatfield, refreshments.[[In-content Ad]]
