Zimmer Holdings Inc. formally launched the Zimmer Institute with a meeting of surgeon advisers and government and business officials. The Institute is a key part of Zimmer’s industry-leading program to bring the benefits of minimally invasive surgery to joint replacement patients. The new 15,000-square-foot facility focuses on surgeon education.

After a teaching career, spanning 39 years in Warsaw, Robert W. Lichtenwalter will be putting away his textbooks for a final time at the end of this school year. Lichtenwalter says, however, that retirement is out of the question. Although he will not be in the classroom this fall, he plans to devote full time to his position as executive director of the Baker Boys Club, a post he has occupied for the past 25 years.

Murray Holt, Warsaw, bowled a three-game series of 702 recently - the first league-sanctioned 700 series ever rolled at Gilliam Lanes (north edge of Warsaw.) Holt, bowling for Burket Elevator, put together games of 231, 233 and 238. His team also had high series for the night – 2,939 – including a high game of 1,021.

“Frivolties of 1938,” a musical comedy and vaudeville revue, will be presented here at the Centennial Theatre by the Warsaw volunteer fire department April 6-7. Ethel Shubert will act as musical director and costumes will be supplied by Avis Fern. Russell Bolinger will act as master of ceremonies. The cast includes Maxine Smith, Phil Young, Jack Gard, Bill Collison, Isabelle Beebe, Mike Hodges, Avis Fern, Doris Hatfield, Spike Ferns, Dale Becraft, Baby Ford, Adabelle Washburn, Dorothy Burwell, Betty Sheets, Charlotte Krauter, Mary Ellen Blosser, Phyllis Latta, Joan Washburn, Bill Davis, Frank Rarick and Porter Brown.
