The brass instrument up in the attic collecting dust now can be put to good use. The Salvation Army is launching a music program to teach music to children. Captain Jody Dalberg said the Salvation Army always has focused on brass instruments throughout its history. The new program will teach students how to play brass instruments.
Dr. K.T. Kishan, The Vein Center, attended the American Venous Forum Annual Meeting. The forum is led by vascular and general surgeons.
25 Years
John Kibiger of Male Leaf Farms was presented with a framed Frank Lloyd Wright print from Don Scearce of Scearce and Association on April 2. The print was a prize given by Scearce and Associates, Architects and Engineers, at their recent open house. Attendees of the open house were given tours of the architectural office, building products information and demonstrations of computer aided drafting.
Craig A. Tidball, investment representative, with the Warsaw office of Edward D. Jones & Co. has been named to the American funds group all-American team. Tidball was cited for outstanding service to investors in the Kosciusko County area and for excellence in financial counseling to investors and variable annuity contracts.
50 Years
Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation of the slaying and butchering of a pet deer in the Epworth Forrest area near North Webster. Officers said they are awaiting verification of information and the results of tests which were taken following the incident. The pet deer, known to everyone in the Epworth Forest area and to many summer visitors to Webster Lake, had been raised from an infant by Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Overmyer.
75 Years
W.W. Bill Peebles, Chapman Lake, received the fisherman of the year award. Peebles turned in a bass weighing six and one half points at Essig's sporting store. He caught the fish on Chapman Lake using live bait. A week or so prior he chalked up a nine and three quarter pound pike by the same means.
