Richard and Chantal Stringer have been part of Disney On Ice presents Disney/Pixar’s “Toy Story 2” for the past four years. Chantal is the performance director; Richard is one of the three group members of the show’s comedy team, The Flapjax. The last stop for the show’s 10-month tour is at the Allen County War Memorial coliseum April 6-10. The show is one of the largest for Disney On Ice, requiring a 135-foot by 65-foot arena.
The Spring judged show will open at the Lakeland Art Gallery, 116 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, April 6, funded by the Esther Pfleiderer Trust. Mica and Lauren Forstein will teach a glass bead-making workshop April 23.

Warsaw Community High School’s baseball team, after coming off a 20-10 season, which ended with a 1-0 loss to Final Four participant Concordia in the first game of the regional, returns six starters this season for 10-year head coach Jim Dermody. Kevin Thompson returns to fill the shortstop position; Sherlock Harrison, third base; Geno Zale, second; Troy Kintzel, centerfield; Kevin Hackworth, first; Doug Light, rightfield. Warsaw will have its home opener April 7, when the Tigers entertain Fort Wayne Bishop Luers.
The 150-year-old Pioneer cemetery on 12B Road east of Bourbon has been overgrown and hidden from view for many generations, but volunteers gathered early Saturday to clear trees and clean the tombstones. Robert Neidig, Bremen, said his great-grandfather, J.S. Neidig, walked to the Bourbon area from Pennsylvania in 1850, and built a log cabin north of present-day Bourbon (now a brick home on Ind. 331 owned by Barry Wampler).

Spelldowns at the Silver Lake School have qualified Dirk Yoder and Julie Zimmerman for the county finals in April. Dirk won the fifth and sixth championship over Linda Jontz; Julie won the seventh and eighth championship by outlasting Connie Lynch.
Mentone High School delegates to Girls State: Georgia Vires and Cynthia Ellsworth; alternates are Phyllis Hurd and Marlene Brallier.
Warsaw High School placed three players on the Northern Lakes Conference basketball teams: Mike Niles (first team); John Beebe, Mike Chambers (second team).

If plans, now in the embryo stage, are perfected, Warsaw may boast a new hotel. The site is located on U.S. Highway 30 on a main intersection near the business district. Options have been secured on several properties. Plans call for a parking lot to be operated in conjunction with the hostelry.
A big tent auction sale was held this week by W.C. Wedrick, Hereford breeder of Silver Lake. People from Kosciusko County and six outside states filled the tent. The sale, which was advertised in The Times & Union, netted over $10,000 for cattle alone. Real estate and machinery were also sold.
Mr. and Mrs. John Roberts, of near North Webster, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary March 3.
