    SYRACUSE - The Warsaw Tigers won their first back-to-back gymnastics sectional title in school history recently at Wawasee High School behind a strong performance from Jillian Letsch.

Letsch, a sophomore, won her second all-around title in a row at Wawasee with a total score of 34.45.

    POTPOURRI - New Fireman - Matt Warren, who was employed as the Warsaw Police Department mechanic, began his new job as a city fireman on March 1. Firefighting runs in the family ... uncle Layne Warren is longtime Claypool Fire Chief and cousin Jack is Claypool fire captain.

    A photo in the latest issue of Indiana Teachers, official publication of the Indiana State Teachers Association, shows the teaching of French in the Warsaw schools. Cut lines point out that it is one of the most modern methods in the state. Archie Keffer, uses tape recorders to assist in teaching the subject.


75 Years Ago

March 7 1934

    Mr. and Mrs. Charles Monroe of Silver Lake will celebrate March 12, their 58th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe who are both enjoying exceptionally good health, have the honor of being among Indiana's longest married couples. They were married by the Rev. David Hidy at the John Hanley home, south of North Manchester.
