The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary has named the Warsaw Flotilla best of its division at their meeting in Lansing, Mich. The Warsaw Flotilla, commanded by Dr. James Boblin, was founded five years ago because members felt the 100 lakes in the county dictated the need for a boating safety organization; Division 17 covers southern Michigan and northern Indiana. Several members are training to assist the Coast Guard on the Great Lakes on weekends because of staff reductions caused by Operation Desert Storm.
Harriet and John Ladd will be installed as worthy matron and patron of Warsaw Chapter 88 of Order of the Eastern Star on Wednesday, March 27. Light, peace and love have been chosen as the theme for the coming 103rd year of the Warsaw Chapter.

Times-Union Business Manager William K. Mollenhour came home from a cruise and learned from the mail he had been honored as a "Kentucky Colonel." County Councilman Keith Horn and Louise Acker, R.N., director of nurses at Murphy Medical Center and a former resident of Kentucky, also received this honor. Bill can add this laurel to that of "Sagamore of the Wabash," bestowed for 17 years of service with the State Aeronautics Commission, serving under five governors--a record.
Gordon Hackworth, 38, Route 5, Warsaw, filed his candidacy for the office of Seward Township trustee in the May Primary Election. He is presently plant manager of Jomac-North. He graduated from Burket High School and ran unsuccessfully for the Tippecanoe Valley School Board in 1964. Hackworth and his wife, Louise, have two children, Debra Lynn, 11, and Brett Allen, seven.

Deputy Clerk George Phillips and his wife, Phyllis, are parents of an eight and one-half pound son, Stephen George, born at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, the first baby born at the new Murphy Medical Center.
Dave Lloyd, son of the Ray Lloyds, of South Buffalo Street, and Sybil Saylor, daughter of Mrs. Joyce Saylor, of Winona Lake, are on the honor roll for this semester at Ashland (Ohio) College.
