Holidays aren’t the only time of the year when food is needed to help the less fortunate. It’s needed year-round. And to help fill that need, the Warsaw Community High school freshman student council will sponsor its annual canned food drive in February. According to freshman student council membe Adam Wishart, the council wants to collect at least 8,000 cans from WCHS students. An additional challenge is to get the community involved by collecting and matching what the school raises.

Klondaris steps aside from freshman issue - If anyone has been caught in the middle of the old freshman high redevelopment issue, it is clearly Terry Klondaris who serves on both the Warsaw School Board and the city’s redevelopment commission. As expected, Klondaris said he will not vote on whether to grant an extension, and will also avoid the executive session in which the two boards will discuss the matter.

Dr. Byron S. Lamson, general missionary secretary of the Free Methodist Church and a resident of Winona Lake, is author of a new book released in January. The book, “To Catch the Tide,” is the story of the organization of the Free Methodist World Fellowship, which was brought to completion a year ago. The book has many pictures, a number of which include Winona Lake residents. Several pages are devoted to the visit of the overseas delegates to Winona Lake last January.

Bill Chinworth, Wendel Madeford, Clifford Ring, Jesse Dunn, O.E. Freeman, and George Arnold attended a Westinghouse Range meeting recently at the Wayne Hotel, Fort Wayne.
Roger Nusbaum returned recently to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.O. Nusbaum of Winona Lake after visiting for three weeks with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Ellis, at Miami, Fla.[[In-content Ad]]
