Viking Video, Mentone, announced the winner of their Christmas DVD player giveaway. Keeley Pruitt, Mentone, and her son, Brandon, were winners Dec. 23.
Warsaw Muffler and Brake is now open at 1823 E. Market St., Warsaw, under new owner Howard Patrick. He has worked as a mechanic at Pinky’s 76, East End Gulf, and with Carl Arnett at Warsaw Muffler and Brake.
Jeremy and Heide Price, Syracuse, are the parents of Brittany Renee Price, the first baby born in 2004 at Kosciusko Community Hospital. She was born at 1:51 p.m. Jan. 2, weighing in at 7 lbs., 4 oz. and measuring 20 inches. Brittany joins a brother, Trevor, 3-1/2.

Noreko Suzuki, 17, traveled to Warsaw from Tokyo, Japan, as part of a foreign-exchange program, “Youth For Understanding.” Her host parents are Gary and Denise Sheetz, R.R. 7, Warsaw. Her first impression of Warsaw – ”so flat!”

Madame Jeanne Hamon, who lives in France and was a teacher in public schools near Paris for 40 years, was a guest of Warsaw High School’s French instructor, Florent Toirac. Madame Hamon is spending six months at the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Seth Lewis of Pike Lake. Ann Boley and Susan Gerrard are studying fourth-year French under Mrs. Toirac.
Jackie Akers, Clayton, Ohio, was named Grace College Homecoming Queen for 1963-64. Her attendants are: Carolyn Peters, Covington, Ohio, and Lou Ellen Baker, Johnstown, Pa. Glenn “Chet” Kammerer, Grace College forward from Leesburg, received the Most Valuable Player award from Lancer Coach Richard Messner during the finals of the Grace Homecoming basketball tournament. John Brown University won.

The rural rehabilitation office in the Times building was officially opened Tuesday with Harry F. Wyland, LaGrange, as acting supervisor and Mrs. Margaret Fisher Clark, formerly of the soil conservation office in the Courthouse, as office secretary. Charles Howard, South Bend, district farm debt adjuster for northern Indiana, will have his offices in the farm security administration office.
Six new typewriters valued at $200 to $300 were stolen from Syracuse High School sometime between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 3 a.m. Wednesday. They were Royal typewriters purchased in 1935 for the commercial department.[[In-content Ad]]
