Dana Breading, manager of Merle Norman Cosmetics, 116 E. Center St., placed three paintings by Fred Olds on display in her shop in order to showcase a piece of Warsaw's history during this weekend's "Hometown Holiday" event, and they'll be displayed until the new year. The paintings, incorporating Breading's Cigar Store in various holiday scenes, were thought to have been given to Robert Breading Sr. after he acquired the store in the 1950s. The Breading family recently discovered them in a storage area during the store's transition into the Merle Norman shop. Olds passed away earlier this year in Oklahoma, where he lived after leaving Warsaw. While a resident of this area, he was a teacher, coach, painter, poet, singer, counselor-on and on. "His local impact was unforgettable."
