The 10th annual Festival of Trees is planned for Dec. 3 through Dec. 7 at the Town Center Mall, 119 E. Center St., Warsaw. Donations made during the event will benefit the programs of the Health Care Foundation of Kosciusko County.
Elias M. Sarber, 69580 W. County Line Road, Nappanee, will observe his 90th birthday at a Thanksgiving Day supper with his family. He was born south of Bremen Nov. 18, 1913, one of 13 children. He moved to Nappanee after he married Laura Gordon, who died in 1962. He was a farmer, 4-H leader and an ordained minister in 1940. He has two sons, Kenneth and Tom, and a daughter, Shirley, all of Nappanee. Also, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Shirley Hoover, manager of Scent Saver, 1202 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw, will have a drop box available for donations of non-perishable items for the Salvation Army.
The Lake Theatre will be showing “Heathcliff the Movie” on Dec. 10 and “The Adventures of Mark Twain” Dec. 17. Both are free with downtown merchant tickets.
North Webster School will present a Christmas concert Monday at 7:30 p.m. Elementary choirs are under the direction of Karilyn Metcalf; David S. Blackwell directs the seventh and eighth grade band. Marcia Conkling is on piano; David Bowen is on drums.

Edward Leedy, central office equipment man and testboard operator for the Warsaw exchange of United Telephone Co. of Indiana since 1945, retired Nov. 1. Throughout his 36 years he was stationed in Warsaw. He began his telephone career in 1927 when he was hired as a lineman by the Commercial Telephone Co. in Warsaw. After United acquired the local company in 1931 Leedy advanced through the ranks and in 1945 was named wire chief in the Warsaw district. In 1957, when the Warsaw exchange was converted to dial service, Leedy was placed in charge of the company’s testboard, testing all local and long distance circuits. He and his wife, Grace, are the parents of five children: Mildred, Alice, Wilma, Robert, and Ernest.

The Spring Creek Church of the Brethren will observe its annual home-coming on Sunday. In the morning their pastor, the Rev. Moyne Landis, will bring the message. At 2 p.m. there will be presented a pageant honoring their pastor and his family who have been with this church 20 years. In this length of time the Rev. Landis has baptized 98 persons into the church, married 42 couples and preached 206 funerals.
Three motorists were fined $1 and costs Friday night by Justice Calvin Ketrow. One was speeding on the Lincoln Highway; another was passing a vehicle on the Lincoln Highway; another had an overweight truck on the Lincoln Highway.
Ezra Kaiser, Milford, driving the automobile of Weldon Ritchie Saturday night, struck the parked automobile of G. H. Oliver at 311 S. Lake St. Ritchie suffered a small cut below his right eye when his glasses were broken by the impact.
