Dawn Engler, flutist, is the 1998 winner. Beth Chiarenza, violinist, was the runner-up.

    A retired schoolteacher and the owner of an internationally-known orthopedic manufacturing firm were named the 1982 Warsaw "Man and Woman Of The Year" at the 71st Annual Greater Warsaw Chamber of Commerce Banquet at the Shrine Building.

Franklin I. Sawmann, 76, of 250 Gilliam Drive, Warsaw, and Esther Naomi Pfleiderer, 74, of 115 N. Washington St., Warsaw, received plaques as the 24th recipients of the annual honors.

January 23 1958

    John Thompson, 27, office manager of the Nappanee Milling Co., was named outstanding young man of Nappanee at a recent meeting of the Jaycees.

Olen Anglin, president of the organization, said Thompson had contributed many things to the community. He has been active in United Fund Work, chairman of the boys and girls committee of the Nappanee Kiwanis and past president of the Jaycees Association.

    The Warsaw-Tippecanoe Ladies' Bridge Club was entertained by Mrs. E.W. Gresso at her home on East Main Street. There were two tables of bridge with first prize going to Mrs. A.T. Johnson, and second to Mrs. Homer Smith.

Warsaw City Council Continues Discussion On Downtown Parking Changes
A soft rollout of the new downtown Warsaw parking technology and ordinances could come as early as August, with the official rollout in the fall. City Planner Justin Taylor told the Warsaw Common Council Monday that on May 7 the Warsaw Traffic Commission voted unanimously to give a favorable recommendation to the council related to the proposed changes for downtown parking.
