The Wagon Wheel Theatre is presenting “Annie” Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 14. Local girl Natalie Bryan is Annie, the 11-year-old girl left on the steps of an orphanage when she was a baby. Natalie has real potential vocally. Wagon Wheel veteran Carrie McNulty is Miss Hannigan who operates the orphanage.
Natalie, daughter of Jeff and Cheri Bryan, Winona Lake, is only nine and a 4th-grader at Jefferson Elementary School. “Roy Hine is a good director.” She said everyone was so nice to her. She doesn’t know what she wants to do when she grows up.

Laura Lea Byers, 206 Auditorium Blvd., Winona Lake, has been selected as a state finalist in the Miss American Pre-Teen Pageant to be held in Indianapolis June 23 and 24. Laura is a sixth-grader at Jefferson Elementary School where she is active in band and choir. She is active at her church and volunteers weekly at Warsaw Community Public Library.
Nancy S. Dickerson has joined the sales staff of Lucas Realtors, Better Homes and Gardens. Nancy, her husband Jeff and two sons reside in South Brook Park. Joe V. Sutton has joined Lake City Bank as vice president and trust officer. He formerly taught in the Tippecanoe Valley and Manchester Community School corporations.

Beaver Dam Boy’s Agriculture 4-H Club was host at a reunion-dinner. All members and their families since 1946 were invited. Nearly 325 persons attended. Lyle Welty, president, was master of ceremonies for the program after the dinner. The past adult leaders and the outstanding 4-H mother of 1962, Mrs. Edith Ummel, were recognized. Glen Lowman awarded each member a silver dollar. Bonnie Whittenberger, photography leader, and Phil Lash, coach of the livestock judging team, received merit recognition. Gerald Smalley, club leader, was presented with a token of appreciation for his help. He then introduced Norman Tinkey, the new club leader for 1964.

The new Goodyear service store, East Market Street, launches its formal opening Thursday under the management of I.L. Harman, formerly of Indianapolis. Bill Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Evans, South Indiana Street, is assistant manager. The store will feature tires, radios, batteries, heaters, toy goods, and bicycles.
Frank Gearhart, Winona Lake’s ace angler, caught a 20-pound, 42-inch pike on Winona Lake after a stiff 21-minute battle. The fish struck the bait, a Marathon spoon, in the moss beds at entrance to Cherry Creek. Gearhart used a 15-pound test line.[[In-content Ad]]
