When Mark Heeter stepped down after 14 years of coaching girls basketball at Triton, Athletic Director Mike Byron didn't have to look far for a replacement. Boys assistant coach Paul Walker will take over. This year's core group of players are led by the back-court duo of juniors Lindsay Stutzman and Kristen Dean, who combined to score 17 points per game last year.

Thanks to Adrienne Smalley of Warsaw for designing and coloring the cover page of The Times-Union Nov. 22. She lent her special touch to Rudolph. Adrienne is a first-grader in Mrs. Howie's class at Lincoln School.
Justin Vining, 9, of 210 Reed St., Warsaw, was hunting with his father, Wesley, in Lake Township earlier this month when he bagged a 12-point buck. The deer weighed in at 190 pounds field dressed. Jason Stidams, 11, Rt. 2, Leesburg, shot a 110-pound doe while hunting with his father, Mark. It was Jason's first deer.

A talented trio of singers from Etna Green now have a Metropolis record on sale in Warsaw music stores. The girls have been singing together for several months and furnish their own accompaniment; Janice Gard plays bass guitar, Suzannah Blodgett, drums, and Cinda Stouder, lead guitar. Radio Stations WRSW AM-FM have been playing their songs, "I Won't Cry" and "Denny."
    Mentone Methodist Church, one mile north of Mentone on State Road 19, will dedicate a new parsonage Sunday, Oct. 25. Mrs. Areleda Wilson is chairman of the planning committee. Dr. Robert Yunker, district superintendent, will be speaker and an open house will be held. Work on the parsonage began in July, 1963, and completed in November. Dedication was delayed until the grounds were landscaped.

DeVaun Bitting, Bourbon High School sophomore, won first place in the Bourbon Vo-Ag husking bee held on the Seward Bitting farm south of Bourbon. He husked a total of 335 pounds of corn, with 287.1 pounds net. Roy Lemler was second with 286.56 pounds net and Don Rettinger was third with 199.48 pounds net.
    Annual homecoming day will be observed Sunday, October 8, at the Palestine Methodist Church. All former members, friends and families are invited to attend the special services and enjoy a basket dinner.
    LeRoy Bartol, Warsaw, is the proud owner of an orchard of big, red Hubbardson apples located back of Prospect Hill in west Warsaw. He brought into the Times office a small branch with 11 apples on it. The branch is on display.
