Gerald F. Williams is a retired postmaster from Marion, currently residing at Tippecanoe Lake. As a birthday present, his wife Jean took advantage of a U.S. Postal Service offer allowing anyone submitting a suitable photo to make it into stamps. Before the offer was stopped, photostamps were made of Williams, his grandson, Kyal, and his 1931 post office mail truck, which has been entered in parades and is on display at the Kokomo auto museum.
Local fourth-graders Grant Carlson, Nick Hamrick, Kyle Cramer, Austin and Aaron Fryback helped a neighbor and raked her leaves.

Mentone United Methodist Church is offering a free Thanksgiving dinner in the fellowship hall. Carol Cornett, Dorothy Herendeen, R.J. Hill, Mary Teel, the Rev. Will Lawson and chairman Jim Anderson were the planning committee.
Cardinal Center awards were: Employer of the Year, Walmart; Industry of the Year, Chore Time Equipment; Ruth Griswold, Volunteer of the Year; Brent Bowman, 5, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bowman, Claypool, Child Client of the Year; Marion Dawson, Adult Client of the Year; Maxine Burcham and Randy Hall, co-Employees of the Year; Lee L. Heyde, retiring board chairman; Jack Ellison, officer of the board.
Warsaw Elementary Band presented a concert Nov. 21 in the high school auditorium. The band is under the direction of Mike Scheiber, assistant band director, and Phil Eherenman and Donna Person, middle school band directors.

The Warsaw Chemical Co. plant, fronting on Argonne Road in the east section of the city, has recently completed a 7,000 square-foot addition, making a total of more than 20,000 square feet. It is the ninth expansion program undertaken by the firm’s management since its founding by the late Paul Grimm in 1941 with only two employees.
Warsaw Senior High School was honored as one of the top 25 schools in the National Forensic League. Mrs. Herbert Petrie, speech department, accepted the plaque.

Dave Rankin, former Warsaw High School star athlete, will be in the starting lineup at left end when the Purdue Boilermakers take the field for their football game with Notre Dame at South Bend.
Times carrier boys were treated to fair rides and a number of shows. Several backed out when it came their turn to ride the loop-the-loop. They had loads of fun in the fun house and in the roll-o. Youngsters were given blue tags again this year on “Education Day,” which entitles them to amusements and concessions for half-price.
Concessionnaires began to fight one another late last night on the uptown street when interrupted by night officer Judd Pittenger. No injuries resulted.[[In-content Ad]]
