Within a month of the announcement of the U.S. Marine Band’s appearance at the Warsaw Community High School gym, 4,000 tickets were requested. According to John Elliott, 95 percent of the tickets were requested by Kosciusko County residents. He says there should be plenty of seating because the gym holds 5,000. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9.

Greyhound Bus Lines has announced the new agent for Greyhound in Warsaw will be Red House Books, 115 S. Detroit Street. Red House Books has been in Warsaw for five years selling and trading used books. Buses will depart daily for Chicago at 9 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.; for Fort Wayne at 11:40 a.m. and 10:25 p.m.
Local law enforcement officers will be at Claypool Elementary School Saturday to give parents the opportunity to record their child’s identity. This is their third visit to the Claypool system.

Inez Devenney, executive secretary of the local chapter of the Red Cross, served five weeks at Harlan, Ky., as a case worker during the spring flood disaster covering a six-state area. Ned Titus is chairman of the Blood Program. His report shows that 1,300 pints of blood were donated by 1,500 residents throughout the community during the 10 visits of the Blood Mobile unit to the county this year. Robert Lichtenwalter, 1962 first aid chairman, reports a total of 400 certificates issued for the completion of these courses. Mrs. Scott Flowers is the 1963 chairman.
The 50-mile swim, part of the National Youth Physical Fitness Program promoted by President Kennedy, was completed by 12 young people, and they received letters from the President. Mrs. Fred McKown Sr. is chairman of the Kosciusko Chapter of the American Red Cross.

A young Daily Times staff reporter was taking lunch in a Fort Wayne restaurant Wednesday noon when he overheard two older men bragging about the size of fish they used to catch in Chapman Lake and around Warsaw and recalling memories of the old home town. Intrigued by the true-ringing praises given the old home, the young man introduced himself. The two expatriates were Maurice Brubaker and Otis Nusbaum who grew up in Warsaw, graduating from high school here in the 1900s, and since having made highly successful careers in the legal profession.
Bantamweight Bill Mollenhour outpunched heavyweight Mush Warner on the punching machine at the Silver Lake Fair. Warner protested that Mollenhour’s punch  was just a 50-yard running headlong dive.[[In-content Ad]]

Sheriff Addressed Issues In The Jail Since Taking Office
Once taking office I knew how important it was going to be to have the right leadership in every division of the office, and the jail was certainly no exception. Upon taking office, I appointed Lt. Kevin Gelbaugh as the jail commander and Chad Marsh as the assistant jail commander, and to say I am proud of all their work and accomplishments would be an understatement.
