Aviators Wilbur Hoppus and Bill Eiler ran into little trouble recently as they took off from Grand Rapids, Mich. airport and headed into storm enroute to Warsaw. It looked too dark and dismal so the boys turned back to the port and landed. Bill had to crawl out of the cockpit and sit on the tail to keep the plane on the ground as Willie, in the seat, tried to turn the ship out of the wind. An attendant scurried out of the hangar to help them keep all three points on the ground firm. The wind current sucked up their little plane, spit it out some 50 feet up, and it came down in a heap of twisted tin.

Bob Hoppus, 21, suffered five skull fractures a few weeks ago when struck on the head by a revolving airplane prop at an airport here. For nearly four weeks, he lay in the McDonald hospital here, recognizing no one. Now he's fit as a fiddle.
