The Ramada Plaza Ladies Bridge Club met recently with the following winners: Betty Walston, Margret Stutzman, Leora Fuller, Portia Pancheon and Jean Pritchard.
Winners at Stonehenge Ladies Bridge were Margret Stutzman, Dorthy Sweeney, Erma Swank, Mary Clemens and Sue McGuire. Winners in Couples Bridge were Margret Stutzman, Liz Frazzetta, Kathleen Martin, John Wagley, Ivo Stutzman, Tony Frazzetta, Ken Stringer, Bob Pfeiffer and Wanda McSherry.

Once again, postal officials will address the issue of local growth by changing the addresses of rural Warsaw residents. Continued growth will force the Warsaw Post Office to change a majority addresses for rural Warsaw residents in January, according to Bob Douglas, postmaster at Warsaw. Between 50 and 90 percent of all rural Warsaw addresses could be changed as a result, he said.

Gary A. Jungels of Warsaw Community High School, was one of 20 outstanding high school seniors who participated in a two-day world leadership conference hosted by Wabash College. Jungels heard former U.N. Ambassador Jeane Kirkpatrick and members of her delegation discuss the topic, “The U.S., The U.N., and The world, Who Leads?” As a student participant, Jungels attended three panel discussions.

Dr. Paul Dyer Merica, of Millwood, N.Y., native of Warsaw, graduate of DePauw University, Greencastle, director of research of the International Nickel Company and vice president of the International Nickel Company of Canada, recently was announced winner of the 1938 John Fritz gold medal, highest of American engineering honors, for “important contributions to the development of alloys for industrials uses.” The award is made annually for notable scientific or industrial achievement.
