Lincoln Elementary School recently conducted candy sales, for which proceeds will help purchase new playground equipment. Sales winners from each grade level, who received a choice of $25 cash or a prize of equal value, were Amber Dawn Poe, 2nd grade; Daneyelle McPeak, 1st grade; Jenny Torres, 1st grade; and Holly Murphy, 3rd grade; Barry Taylor, 5th grade; Brandon Conley, 4th grade; Laura Feinstein, Alice Hernandez, Leann Patterson and Anthony McDonald, 6 grade.

Gardner’s Drive-In, is to be opened shortly in downtown Warsaw. Mr. Big is the registered trade mark for the feature double-deck sandwich which is the specialty of the new restaurant. The Warsaw location is the first of the new prototype buildings planned for a nationwide expansion. Donald Shoemaker, resident manager, is from Claypool and received his Gardner Training in Fort Wayne.

Efforts of New Deal Tax gatherers to pinch pennies from church stands serving meals during the Kosciusko county fair did not receive the approval of Jacob S. Koontz, prosecuting attorney. Koontz was receiving congratulations on his stand which became generally known the first of this week. A tax gatherer was in Warsaw to collect a license fee of $3.50 from women’s church societies which served dinner during the fair. Some stands refused and the tax gatherer asked Prosecuting Attorney Koontz to file charges against the offending church groups.
