Jahlyn Smith watched as the Warsaw Tigers played their last game at Fisher Field behind Lakeview Middle School. The first game at Fisher Field was played in 1962 when Lakeview was the high school.

North Webster Lions Club plans to hold its annual haunted house Oct. 27 to 31 at Adventureland Amusement Park. Bob Richards is chairman of the event that he promises to be bigger and better this year. The haunted house covers more than 15,000 square feet and has taken the club more than 4,500 man-hours to construct. It requires 25 people to operate.
Elizabeth and Erin Owens enjoyed playing in the leaves with Jennifer and Brittany Cook on Pike Street.
Tom Maze and his wife, Sara, have been raising buffalo for 11 years, on their 30-acre ranch, Bar Bee Buffalo, overlooking Big Barbee Lake. It started as a hobby; now, he is one of four buffalo ranchers in the county.

Philatelist Jerrod Gerard, Warsaw, examined the Social Security commemorative postal card which will be sold at the Warsaw Post Office Sept. 28, after premiering in Washington D.C. Postmaster Frank Rarick says the design of the 4-cent red, white and blue card is a street scene photograph of a mass of Americans moving forward, with the theme “by the people, for the people.”
Mrs. Dan Leedy, Pierceton, entertained at her home Sunday, honoring her mother, Jennie Guy, on her 92nd birthday.
Nappanee High School homecoming queen Beverly Fisher received her crown from last year’s queen, Carol Disher, at the Warsaw-Nappanee football game. Attendants were Margaret Hargrove, Wendy Truex and Helen Popowzak.

For the first time this season, Warsaw jitterbugs Jane Spurgeon and William Leedy won first place in the contest at Pottowatomie Gardens.
Earl Ketrow, a former employee of Breading Cigar Store, has been seen daily with a different U.S. mailman, learning the route. He was delivering mail by himself Thursday morning. Keith Doran, Burket, and Bob Lucas, Warsaw, have also been employed by Uncle Sam within the last year.
Homer Davidson’s art classes exhibit was displayed at Spink-Wawasee Hotel. Awards were made at a dinner Aug. 14.
Races for registered snipe and national class sailboats trophy will be Aug. 27. The hotel will remain open until Sept. 20 when the last large convention ends.
