North Manchester - The Thomas Marshall Elementary School is the last school in the county that age, that has not been leveled or destroyed. The square building is ordinary but the parapet distinguishes the school. The cement murals depicting school and sports scenes are “unusual,” said planning committee chairman James Garber. It was found that the parapet tuckpoint problems are far worse than expected. The planning committee will recommend a course of action for the building which now houses the Town Life Center.

A 17 year-old Claypool girl recently placed third in the showmanship at halter class of the 16th Annual American Junior Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show and Convention in Tulsa, Okla. Miller, a senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School, competed with her registered American quarter horse “Nitty Investment,” a six-year-old sorrel gelding. She is the daughter of Robert and Margaret Miller.

Mrs. Marguerita Kocher, Warsaw, who is secretary of the Women’s Indiana State Bowling Association, attended an executive Association at the Washington Hotel in Indianapolis over the weekend.
Harley Redinger and Paul Redinger, both of Warsaw, recently left for a week’s deer hunting at Gillette, Wyo. On their return trip, they will stop in the Dakotas for some pheasant hunting.

Thousands of school children approximately 5,000 from every one of the township, town, and Warsaw schools, marched in a mammoth parade Friday morning through the business district to the athletic field. There a band concert and mass singing of the several thousand pupils was held. Never before on the streets of the county-seat has been witnessed a larger number of marches in any parade than comprised the big procession on Friday forenoon. The parade measured ten full city blocks in length.
