Kosciusko Community Hospital celebrated its 25th anniversary and the grand opening of its women's and birthing centers. Speakers included Dr. John Davis; KCH Director of Chaplaincy Doug West; KCH CEO Wayne Hendrix; and Dr. Tom Howard, KCH chairman of obstetrics. The hospital is one of the youngest in the state and is the 10th largest employer in the county. The land for the hospital was donated by a group of eight doctors and supported by the financial assistance of local leaders.

Sticking with its commissioner, the Executive Committee of the Indiana High School Athletic Association has turned down a formal appeal from Warsaw Community High School on the athletic eligibility of Rick Fox. The WCHS senior-to-be, who in his second year at Warsaw, was named Times-Union Area Player of the Year in basketball and was a state qualifier in the high jump in track, had been ruled ineligible by IHSAA Commissioner Gene Cato for athletic participation after this past spring.

Tom Edgar Jr., 4, and his sister, Susie, 18 months old, of Leesburg, are the proud owners of a Shetland pony named Stormy, given away recently by the Conley Oil Company. StormyÕs domain is a two-acre lot across the street from the Edgar home.

Five Warsaw World War veterans, employees at the Warsaw post office, received their bonus bonds presented to them from Postmaster Charles W. Anglin for certification and preparatory to cashing. They were Donald Dubbs, George McClellan, Ralph Dewart, Ted Davis and Roy E.K. Bowen. Also present were American Legion Post adjutant Avery Garber, and Roy Bartol. Garber and Bartol were acting as certifying officers for their fellow employees. Yesterday and today most all Warsaw veterans had received and were cashing their checks.[[In-content Ad]]
