Whitko High School graduates Jason Berry and Gabe Berry, members of the band Abraham, are back in the area after cutting their first national CD in Seattle. The new CD will come out in August, and the band also will be featured on the “American Pie 2 Soundtrack,” which comes out Aug. 10. Abraham will perform in a benefit for  Riley Hospital for Children at Broad Ripple Place in Fort Wayne.

Dick and Tommy Smothers entertained at a pair of sold-out shows recently at the Wagon Wheel Playhouse in Warsaw. The popular comedy act, which gained national recognition with a television show in the late ’60s, was well-received by the local audiences. In addition to their gags, the Smothers performed musically with Dick on bass, fiddle and Tommy on guitar.

Warsaw American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor Helen Scott, Claypool, and Sharon Sauer and Becky Eggers, both of Warsaw, at Girls’ State July 1-9 at the Tower Quadrangle, Indiana University, Bloomington. Claypool Conservation club will underwrite Scott’s expenses. Alternate delegates are Lois Heckman, Claypool, Ann Loop and Barbara DeGood, both of Warsaw.

Mrs. Charles Clark, Miss Marian Clark, Miss Lois Summy, and Miss Ruth Templin, all of Leesburg, and Mrs. Myron Frush of Warsaw spent Tuesday in Holland, Mich., attending the Tulip Festival.
