The Winona Lake Plan Commission approved a rezoning request for the Sofamor Danek building, 100 Publisher Drive.
Tom Dunn, a representative for Grace College and Seminary, made the request to rezone the 80,000-square-feet building from commercial to institutional. Dunn said Grace College plans to make the building a new recreational building.

It's been said that some extra money coming back can be used in many ways, but for Warsaw's Tom and Nila Roberts their tax refund check went a long way before it reached them.
Their tax refund check, mailed from Indianapolis, somehow landed in a field near Columbia City before it was found and sent to Warsaw by a Columbia City couple. The check arrived two days ago. The couple inserted a message, and concluded by saying, "Hope you enjoy it."

Miss Margaret Haney, student nurse at Passavant Hospital, Chicago, is spending a month's vacation here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haney, Kings Highway. She will be affiliated with Downey VA Hospital, Waukegan, Ill., for psychiatric nursing training when she goes back to begin her third and final year. Miss Haney will qualify for a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University as well as a nursing degree from Passavant.

A "Better Homes" contest, which is sponsored by the government, was held recently at Warsaw High School, in which pupils of the public speaking class prepared talks, in addition to anyone else who wished to enter the contest.
Earl Ketrow and Mary Becknell were selected as the boy and girl to represent Warsaw High School in the district contest, which will be held soon.[[In-content Ad]]
