Regarding Tim Keyes:

Some of our founding fathers were Christians, others were deists and agnostics. When it came to the subject of religion, they were gun shy. Those Christians among them had to insist they open their meetings with prayer.

Thomas Jefferson, a deist, wrote the Declaration of Independence. By taking a pair of scissors he edited his Bible, removing all of the new testament miracles. Tommy's abbreviated Bible ended with these words, "There laid thy Jesus, and rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher, and departed."

In 1947, the Supreme Court ruled in the case Everson vs. Board of Education, in which they determined it unwise, if not impossible, to legislate morality. In the 1987 case Edwards vs. Aguillard, the Supreme Court established one religion. Secular humanism. This opinion rejects the foundational beliefs of our country.

Atheist G. Richard Bogarth once wrote: How does a God die? Answer: When all his religionists have been converted to another religion to the point that no one is left to persuade little children that they need him.

Many Christians suggest we revert back to our Bible-based Constitution, but the Constitution was not Bible based, and since that is only a myth, how does one revert back to what has never existed?

Our Constitution and Declaration of Independence, minus the jazzy verbiage, suggests that since we have so diligently schooled ourselves to generate wealth, we have the right to define fair and equitable the distribution of that wealth.

America already possesses those freedoms, so our troops are in the Middle East to project them. I believe they are adamantly protected at home.

Thank you for your service, SFC U.S. Army (retired) Rick Bradley. Your question was why haven't we heard more from moderate Muslims.

I'm of the opinion we may have heard from them on 9/11. Remember, those "evil" terrorists were well educated and middle class.

If today they were to say something, it might sound like this: "Get thee behind us, Ali Babba, so that before the dusk of civilization we can teach our children what works!"
