Each was awarded an Indiana Commendation Medal at the Indiana Guard Reserve 'Dining Out' event in Indianapolis. This medal may be awarded to recognize an IGR member whose performance of duty is so commendable that it sets the individual apart from his/her peers, far above that normally expected of those in his/her grade and position. It is to be awarded to IGR members who have distinguished themselves by meritorious service. They were recognized for numerous classes they have provided in the community including First Aid, CPR, U.S. Homeland Security Weapons of Mass Destruction Training and Community Emergency Response Teams.
