He is the first Scout to have completed an Eagle project and turned in his Eagle application from Troop 782.
He got permission to build at the Mentone park from Utilities Superintendent Eric Carlin. He supervised the Scouts as they water-proof stained the wood and had two work days at the park to build the project.
They built the benches, shingled the roof, planted bushes, put in stepping stones and an angel statue. Reed wood burned dragonflies into the angled parts of the roof.
The Prayer Garden is across the bridge in a quiet sunny spot at Mentzer Park. Reed received donations from local businesses and citizens, making it possible to complete the project.[[In-content Ad]]
