Redress Of Grievances

Our U.S. Constitution tells me that as a citizen I have the right to bring grievances or complaints about how things are being done in Washington. My letters and emails to my representatives in Congress are answered by empty-sounding form letters that are noncommittal at best.
The news media in our nation have their own agenda as to what is presented as news. This has been the case for a long time, which is part of the reason we got rid of television in our home more than 32 years ago. But I remain hopeful that some major issues can be dealt with after the midterm elections this fall. Here are a few gripes about how America is governed:
Complaint #1: Our U.S. Supreme Court itself I find to be unconstitutional. Teaching and discussing the Bible is not a government endorsement of religion. I want our First Amendment rights to free speech restored.
Complaint #2: The word marriage only means one thing, a man and a woman being united as husband and wife. I do not accept the politically correct term “traditional marriage.” Then “nontraditional marriage” would have to include humans marrying their dogs, cats or chickens also. I want Congress to defend marriage.
Complaint #3: It is time to stop playing sugar daddy to the world. Put an end to foreign aid, downsize the government and end deficit spending.
Complaint #4: Shame on the U.S. Congress for allowing the non-thinkers in Washington to allow women in armed forces combat units. Women are not physically capable in strength or emotional courage for mutual support of men on a no-holds barred bloody battlefield, nor physiologically able to endure prolonged physical combat with battlefield methods of hygiene. We hold the U.S. Congress responsible for such malfeasance.
Complaint #5: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is out of control. The United States has a 200-year supply of coal, which allows electricity to be generated at a mere fraction of the cost of other energy sources. We request that the Congress, our elected officials, protect American consumers from the unelected forces of the EPA.
Complaint #6: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) is a disaster. There never were 30 or 40 million so-called uninsured Americans. Many millions of Americans were uninsured because they chose to be uninsured. Most of the rest were either fully covered by Medicaid or disability. If not, medical care was guaranteed by law at any hospital emergency room. Hospitals and doctors often wrote off these charges, or dread disease foundations were utilized for claim payments.
This law needs to be repealed. I personally do not like being told that we must buy something, this is most invasive of our privacy and freedom of action. We remember that it was the Democratic members of Congress exclusively who are responsible for passing this law.
