Redevelopment Commission Hears Report On 2nd Sewer Plant

July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

The Warsaw Redevelopment Commission Monday approved a claim for Lake City Bank for $400.

Expansion for the Warsaw Northern Economic Development Area also was on the agenda. However, City Planner Jeff Noffsinger said the city isn't looking at an expansion of that area this year.

Noffsinger also said he hopes to begin the engineering stages of the second sewage treatment plant after the first of the year.

Engineering of the plant is expected to cost $800,000. The cost will be funded by Economic Development Income Tax revenue, which the city will receive in May.

But begin the engineering phase in January, the city would have to secure an "anticipation note" which would be serviced by EDIT revenues when they become available in May.

The plant will be located on the Tippecanoe River south of U.S. 30.

Board member Bob Steele requested a tour of the Danek project. Noffsinger said it hasn't had an official opening yet but he could arrange a tour for the Redevelopment Commission. [[In-content Ad]]
