Redevelopment Commission Approves Extension Of Gatke Property Lease

Warsaw Redevelopment Commission Monday approved a three-month extension on an option to lease real estate agreement for the Gatke Property.

Aaron Scantlen, president of Sycamore Tree Investments, Winona Lake, plans to turn property at 2321 E. Winona Ave. into a banquet hall, an office building to rent out to businesses, a coffee house and art gallery.

Scantlen Monday requested a three-month extension until March on the lease to finish architectural drawings and secure funding.

The commission approved an option to lease during its Oct. 6 meeting.

The commission also approved claims Monday, including a $5,717 claim for CR 300N and CR 150W layout plan and profile and intersection and road widening; a $600,0000 claim for Warsaw for money obligated to the Wastewater Department; a $500 claim to Source One Insurance for member bonds; a $4,840.69 claim and $1,273.24 claim to IFA Brownfields; and a $112,000 claim to Medtronic Asset Management for a Warsaw Economic Development Bond.

Commissioners are Ron Yeiter, Richard Snodgrass, Charles Smith, Tammy Rockey, Savina Kralis and Trish Brown.

The commission will meet again Jan. 5 at noon at city hall.[[In-content Ad]]
