ROCHESTER - Raymond Edwin Hektor, 70, of 1319 Monroe St., Rochester, died at 2:50 p.m. Jan. 29, 2011, in his residence.

He was born Feb. 12, 1940, in Bruce Lake Station, to Edwin R. and Agnes L. Zartman Hektor. On Feb. 1, 1975, he married Ramona Thomas, who survives.

Living most of his life in Fulton County, he was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired in 2002 from Black Oxide, where he was a truck driver. He formerly worked at Lear Corp., Bourbon. As a young man, he attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester.

Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly (and spouse Tony) Balsley, Tippecanoe, and Kandi Hektor-Fritter, Argos; a son, Randy (and spouse Michelle) Hektor, Mentone; three sisters, Bonnie Mosley and Patricia (and spouse William) Mosley, all of Arkansas, and Sister Sharon Hektor, Michigan; a brother, Joseph (and spouse Bertha) Hektor, Mississippi; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery with military graveside rites by members of LeRoy Shelton American Legion 36 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars 1343, both in Rochester.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
