Ray Porter, 79, passed away at 6:30 a.m. May 5, 2015, in Warsaw Meadows Care Center.
He was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Floyd County, Ky., to Walker and Bessie Frazier Porter. On April 1, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he married Shirley A. Lay, who survives in Warsaw.
He lived most of his life in Kosciusko County, having moved there from Kentucky. He worked at Dalton Foundry for 25 years, retiring from the maintenance department. He attended Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Claypool.
Also surviving are five daughters: Bonnie (and spouse Reggie) Shepherd, Claypool; Cindi (and spouse Marty) Justice, Winona Lake; Pam Engle, Sidney; Donna Porter, Marshall, Ill.; and Margaret Parker, Bath, Ohio; three sons: Mitchell (and spouse Barb) Porter, Ardmore, Okla.; Tim Porter, Warsaw; and Gregg (and spouse Holly) Porter, Columbia City; two sisters, Marie Cavins, Wabash, and Jewell Porter, North Webster; two brothers, Robbie Porter, Corbin, Ky., and     Larry (and spouse Karen) Porter, Newport, Ky.; one brother-in-law, Roger “Slim” Hysell, Las Vegas, Nev.; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Porter; three brothers: Dave, Paul and Buddy Porter; and two sisters, Helena May and Mary Faye Hysell.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, with Pastor Dean Ealey, Early Apostolic Bible Training Center, Claypool, officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
