Randolf “Randy” Scott Balmer, 58, of 308 N. Main St., Syracuse, and formerly of Warsaw, died at 8:31 a.m. May 7, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born June 28, 1953, in Lancaster, Pa., to Robert Shreiner and Jean Loraine Slagel Balmer, who survive in Warsaw. On Jan. 12, 1974, in Lancaster, he married Debra Lee Shelly, who survives.

He attended school at Lititz, Pa.; graduated from Warwick High School in 1971; and attended Grace College, Winona Lake, from 1971-72. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 21 years, moving to Warsaw in 1991, where he started working for Warsaw Masonry Supply as a fireplace manager until his retirement due to ill health in 2011. He attended Warsaw Community Church.

Also surviving are a son, Jonathan (and spouse Angela) Balmer, Syracuse; a daughter, Shelley (and spouse David) Brigham, Fort Hood, Texas; two grandsons; and a sister, Patty (and spouse John) Boren,   Winona Lake.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Community Grace Brethren Church, Warsaw, officiated by Chaplain John Boren.

Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
