Ralph E. Hall, 82, of North Manchester, died at 1:50 a.m. June 11, 2008, in North Manchester.

He was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Earl and Jean Walker Hall. On Oct. 5, 1963, he married Eula Mae Tharp, who died in 1997.

Formerly of Las Vegas, Nev., he moved to North Manchester in 2007. He was a retired U.S. Navy instructor for Community College of Southern Nevada, where he taught hotel and restaurant management and started the Meals on Wheels program for Clark County.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Atlantic Theatre, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was Chief 2nd Class, serving more than 20 years.

He also managed restaurants at the Desert Inn Hotel, Las Vegas, and was a member of the Las Vegas Executive Chefs Association. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite-Valley and Zelzah Shrine Temple, all of Las Vegas.

Surviving are a daughter, Candace Jane Rich, DDS, Warsaw; three grandchildren, Lucille Mae Rich, Audrey Jane Rich and Melisa Claire Rich, all of Warsaw; and a companion, June Hansen, Las Vegas.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, with Pastor David Heim officiating. Burial will be private.

No calling is planned.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
