R. Maxine "Midge" Nice, 82, went to be with her heavenly Father at 10:25 a.m. Oct. 19, 2009, in the home of her daughter, Janice Moore, Plymouth.

She was born July 13, 1927, in Atwood, to Emry A. and Violet L. Barth Murphy.

She was a lab technician at Uniroyal Inc., Mishawaka, for 30 years, retiring in 1992. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1945, and attended Ivy Tech. She was a member of Mount Tabor Church of God, Etna Green. Living most of her life in Atwood and South Bend, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Plymouth for the last 2-1/2 years of her life.

Surviving are a daughter, Janice E. (and spouse Charles) Moore, Plymouth; a son, Dennis L. (and spouse June) Nice, Warsaw; seven grandchildren: Debbie (and spouse Steve) Keen, LaPaz; Barbara (and spouse Dave) Sommers and James Coburn, all of Plymouth; Lisa (and spouse Nathan) Gordon, Albuquerque, N.M.; Chuck Moore, Lakeville; and Teri Sue (and spouse Jim) Thompson and Jennie Moore, all of Tampa, Fla.; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alberta Cox, Warsaw, and Lenora Stump, Pierceton. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kelly William Coburn, and significant other, Bobbie Miner.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Stan Owen of Mount Tabor Church of God, Etna Green. Burial will be in Etna Green Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
