The Purdue Club of Kosciusko County presented scholarships to three students from the Purdue Scholars of Kosciusko County Fund.
The fund was established through the Kosciusko County Community Foundation to provide financial assistance to deserving students from Kosciusko County who are beginning their third or fourth year at Purdue University.
The Purdue Club announced Samantha Carney, Anushri Gokhale and Teryn Sapper as this year's recipients of the award.
Gokhale was awarded a $500 scholarship by Amy Craft, chairperson of the Purdue Club Scholarship Committee.  Anushri will be starting her third year in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Purdue University, West Lafayette. Gokhale is a Warsaw resident, and 2007 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. She plans to earn her doctor of pharmacy degree from Purdue in 2013, and become a pharmacist.
Samantha Carney was awarded a $500 scholarship. She will be a senior at Purdue University, studying chemistry education, to graduate in May 2012. Carney is a Nappanee resident, and 2008 graduate of NorthWood High School.  After graduating from Purdue, she hopes to work for Teach for America, and then teach high school chemistry.
Sapper was also awarded a $500 scholarship. She will be a senior at Purdue University, majoring in dietetics, to graduate in May 2012. Sapper is a Warsaw resident, and 2008 graduate of Warsaw Community High School.
After graduating from Purdue, she plans to become a clinical dietician with a concentration in oncology and research.[[In-content Ad]]
